Craft: Mean Art

Art is something that can attract a person to observe or view due to it beauty and its presentable look. The art also must be a work that can communicate and useful between a viewer and the artist. But of all the beauty in the world, the works of beauty by the Mighty Allah is the infirmity and with His approval the human can create a beautiful art. As said by Hashim Musa (1996) about the concept ofarts:

'Art, for human is the occasion for expression, talking, verbalization and speech, and for the representation of beauty, truth and perfection. However, the real height of beauty truth and perfection is Allah and all His creation."

To express the need in art, an artist should know how to communicate with the viewer, spectator or observer through his art as the medium. The communications that created by the artist have made the art useful and some times meaningful for human. Craft is Art, art done by the artist that so beautiful and useful to the need of its observer. Craft, did have all the concept mention as an artwork. In the word from Wikipedia, The Free Encyclopedia (2003) were one of it definitions about arts is:

“Art is a craft, but not just any sort of craft. It is a craft of expression - of someone's feelings or thoughts, and it can take many forms depending on a chosen medium."

Here we can see haw the medium gain an importance role in presenting arts, the arts either can just be observe as the collection of its admirers or as a work that can be useful and serve its obvious practical needs to others and it also have an aesthetic value, as mention in the Wikipedia, The Free Encyclopedia (2003) as the following:

“Good art can work on many levels and is capable of many interpretations."

Generally speaking, there are no separations between work of art and craft; it is true because in craft the beauty and the purpose for human interest are already generated.

Role of Art

Art have so many role, back in the past arts was more to the practice of human activity and as documentations. The purpose is to past information to the present generation about their experience and activity. This practice can be seen in all the cave painting existed now, for example the cave painting arts found in The Cave of Lascaux, (Paleolithic Age). 4 We also can relate this type of work to the statement by Leo Tolstoy (1828 – 1910):

“Art is a human activity, consisting in this, that one man consciously, by means of certain external signs, hands on the other feelings he has lived through, and that other people are infected by these feelings and also experience them."

The role has developed, to the art were it is more to be practice to the performing a religion or community believe icon. It also did not stop there; the art role has been evolve to something that over and above necessity were the art is only can be observe by some people who can afford it. By than the western ideologies have separate the work of art that benefits the usurer as the craft and the work of art that can only be observe by certain people is an artwork as a masterpiece.

Art Role in Advertising

Art and advertising, although ideologically separated by the notion of business, carry out their existences intertwined. Still, there is little research today concerning what it is that brings about the positive effects that we see. Based on a thorough empirical study, this thesis combines previous research and tests the causality between art and some of the most commonly discussed mediators of positive evaluations from art onto the advertised product or brand. It also concludes that the results in a leading article within this narrow field of research are erroneous due to a flawed study design and incorrect assumptions. The article argues that the inclusion of fine art in advertising leads to positive product evaluations through luxury perceptions, whereas this thesis proves that it is in fact the overall evaluation of the advertisement that has the most significant impact, rather than the level of artistry.

During the holiday season, we (the consumers) are subjected to mass amounts of TV, radio and paper advertisements for products we don't really need but really want.
What makes up this "want" these commercials invent, and what effective marketing skills have businesses established in order to sell their product? What is more prevalent to the holiday season – and should be applied to the entire year – is the use of the arts in advertising.
From a logistical standpoint, the arts involved in advertising have lead to successful studies being conducted by universities nationwide.

For example, the MIT Comparative Media Studies program advocates the use of arts inadvertising that encourages all media forms, theoretical domains, cultural contexts and historical periods.
Their course work primarily provides bridging the gap between advertising theory and modern practice. Consulting regularly with the arts, business leaders in industry have advanced the fields of public policy, journalism, education and nonprofit sectors through the contemporary use and development of arts in media.
In layman's terms, the arts provide a personal and empathetic but aesthetic relationship between the product and the consumer.
Recent research, according to Alan Chapman, a successful self-help business author, proves that, "where responses are required, the best adverts are those which offer an impressive, relevant benefit to the (consumer)."
In his AIDA approach – Attention, Interest, Desire and Action – Chapman builds an impressive benefit of consumer satisfaction by closely relating to the consumer, prompting the latter's emotions to purge on the product.
Because the arts provide a vocabulary and language unknown to scaffolding and paper handouts, which are historically successful advertising tactics, the younger generations who seek instant satisfaction need to be gratified by a slightly creative and digital method, according to consumer psychologist David Lewis
Thus, high energy, short and recognizable jingles produce the most successfuladvertisements. What is the snack that smiles back? Eat'n Park is the place for what?
It is these succinct songs that act has ear worms, nesting in our brains until we are hungry for goldfish, feel the need to eat at Eat'n Park, or want a piece of Double mint Gum.
Research conducted by Radio Recall Research, Inc., has established that people respond to and remembers thoughts that are colored by feelings. Thus, not only bright colors or beautiful people are necessary to promotional ads, but the same part of the brain that responds to imagery will respond to music.
Jingles are inherently short rhythmic and melodic patterns that stimulate the right brain, although the left brain responds to reason and step-by-step logic, therefore determining should I want a snack that smiles back, goldfish are an attainable source of food.
Continued studies show the most effective commercials utilize a combination of left and right brain stimulation.

Role of Art In Our Life

Art is an all embracing notion (music, painting, theater  literature and so on). Art had the most important role in the development of the mankind. The first were found on walls of ancient caves. So we can guess that painting was the first way of art. Painting is the most understandable way of art, because it gives us the most full and vivid impression.

Seneka once said: “All art is bur imitation of nature”. I don’t agree with him. I think that art has many functions and it’s hard to overestimate the role of art in one’s life. Art has great influence on our souls, feelings, forms our moral values. Art forms our outlook and enriches our inner world. Art influences greatly the development and of evolution of consciousness of a person and of the mankind. Art makes us think of the sense of life, how people must live, what is ideal of beauty, what is love, - the eternal questions. Art helps us to understand people who lived

Hundred years ago and to learn the history of the mankind. Art creates our notion about beauty and harmony. Art helps people to understand outside world and each others. Art develops our good qualities. Art has a great educational significance. Art brings people up - makes them more humane and kind. The language of art is universal. Everybody, in spite of age, nationality, occupation understands what is said by the painter. Art gives people a possibility to express ourselves and to become famous. But I don’t think that every painter becomes famous. Only talented, genius people like da Vinci, Raphael and others can create great, eternal art, real masterpieces. Art is great only if it has links with people’s lives, interests, ideals. If it hasn’t, it won’t be understood and acknowledged. Real art appeals to the heart and mind of a man, to his feelings and it proclaims life.

As to the trends of art, I prefer old art. Painting of old masters is one of the greatest treasures mankind has collected in the history of its civilization. The pictures of old painters are in all big museum of the world (for example, the Hermitage, the Tretiakovskaya gallery and others). Old painting reflects the collective experience of human spiritual life of many centuries, because, as I have already said, painting is the first way of art. As to country schools of painting, I prefer English painting school. My favorite’s English painter is George Romney.

George Romney was born in 1734. He was a son of a cabinetmaker. He was apprenticed to Christopher Steele, a travelling portraitist between 1775 and 1757; at that time Romney established himself in Kendal, Westmoreland, where he had a fairly prosperous trade in small portraits. In 1762 he left for London; here he broadened his style considerably.
